The Moral of the Story
When I was just knee high to a grass hopper I loved to read. Having two older sisters helped a lot because they would always leave their library books lying around. When my parents saw that my reading comprehension was at high school level they encouraged me to read as my heart content. My first reader after the Dick and Jane series was Aesop’s Fables.
To this day when my friends tell me of a specific situation or a series of events in my mind I think and the moral of the story is.
At that time, it was popular to make up stories about animals to teach people lessons and a way to talk about people when you didn't want them to know you were really talking about them.
Aesop’s Fables have been making people think for a long time and, once kids read them, they never really forget them, some even have learned from them. And that, my friend, is the Moral of the Story.
